Events: The 2024/25 Program Year

Lectures are the first Thursday of the month and are followed by

a reception for socializing. All lectures are free and open to the public.

November 7, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Perdita Sheirich Junior Art Prize Presentation: Ella Endo:  The 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Ms. Endo traveled to Italy to attend and document her discoveries at this annual, world-renowned exhibition in Venice.

Nicole van Brugge: Two Eras of Chinese-Christian Art: the Late Ming & Early Qing Dynasties; and The Post-Boxer Rebellion Era Preceding the Cultural Revolution. Ms. van Brugge researched Christian art in China during these periods, created both by Western artists catering to Chinese audiences and by Christian Chinese-born artists.

December 7, 2024, Saturday-- Annual Holiday Celebration: 2:30--4:30 p.m. Join Rembrandt Club Members at Seaver House for “Tea and Music for the Holiday Season." Save the Date!

January 9, 2025:  Famous Bus Trip #1:  Enjoy an outing to Skirball Cultural Center   for its featured Diane von Furstenberg: “Woman Before Fashion: 50 years of Fashion” and the permanent exhibit: “Visions and Values: Jewish Life from Antiquity to America.” Brunch on your own prior to the Center’s opening at 12.  Details and tickets available in November.

February 6, 2025:  Beth Gerstein, Executive Director of AMOCA will guide attendees through “Architectural Pottery: Ceramics for a Modern Landscape.”  1:30 p.m. 399 N. Garey Ave.—A Rembrandt Club “Local Field Trip” with free parking!  The American Museum of Ceramic Art / AMOCA — Pomona, California

March 6, 2025:  Famous Bus Trip #2:  Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels, Los Angeles, CA.  Self-guided walk through the fabulous tapestries and art of this architectural wonder in downtown LA.  The Rembrandt Club website will have details and tickets available in January.

 

April 3, 2025:  George Gorse, Pomona College Art Department will share his incredible knowledge of “The Architecture & Art of Pomona College.”  Studio Art Building, Lecture Rm 122 1:30-3:00 p.m.

 

May 22, 2025: Annual Spring Luncheon Jointly hosted by Scripps Fine Arts and Rembrandt Club, featuring guest speaker Jeff Faust, former Claremont resident now living in Petaluma.     Cost and detail will be published on our website in spring 2025.​ Jeff shared his inspiration:

 

" I tend to want to ​retreat

to a simple view. . .  Life is so

 loud these days. We are

 bombarded with loud music

and loud people.  I'm trying

​​to create these windows I can look at in order to re-center myself. . . windows that not only can re-center myself but also give people a respite from the world, too, and maybe help them re-center themselves as well.”

February 6, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. Take a "Local Field Trip" with Rembrandters to the AMOCA for Beth Gerstein's guided tour through "Architectural Pottery: Ceramics for a Modern Landscape." 

Famous Bus Trip excursion into downtown Los Angeles March 6, 2025, to see the faublous tapestries and art of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels.  Tickets go on sale in February with all details.
