Welcome to our Website!
Founded in 1905 to support the arts in Claremont, the Rembrandt Club sponsors monthly lectures and teas, excursions to area museums and art collections, fundraisers, and a variety of other events. Each year it provides Summer Research Grants for one or two Pomona College art students who are entering their senior year. It also supports the college’s Museum of Art with volunteer docents and funding for publications, special acquisitions, and significant programs. If you would like to read a fun history of our club, you can buy our book, The Rembrandt Club: A Story of Friendship, Community, and Art, by clicking here.
Our official mandate is “Promoting the study and appreciation of art in all its forms,” but our unofficial mandate is “Have fun!” Our members share a love for the arts, the wonderful area where we live, and most of all, a good time.
We experience the cutting edge of Southern California arts with our “Famous Bus Trips.” We enjoy free monthly presentations by fantastic artists. We celebrate the holidays with a lovely annual dinner that always sells out. Our past is as colorful and illustrious as our present, so be sure to browse our History section as you page through the site.
The Club’s program year runs from October through May, but we often have summer activities as well. Our almost 200 members include Pomona College alumni, art faculty and staff, Claremont and Pomona area curators and artists, and locals from all walks of life who enjoy art. New members are always welcome. Please join us!
Your President,
Cynthia Clark
